Is online therapy really confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of our practice and ethics. We use secure and encrypted communication platforms to ensure your exchanges remain private. Furthermore, our psychologists are bound by strict professional secrecy: nothing said in a session is shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except in cases of imminent danger to yourself or others. We also recommend that you sit in a quiet and isolated room during your sessions to ensure your own privacy.

What equipment do I need for an online consultation?

To ensure a smooth and effective session, you simply need an internet-connected device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) with a functional camera and microphone. A stable internet connection (Wifi or 4G/5G) is essential to avoid interruptions. We strongly advise using headphones or a headset to improve sound quality and preserve your privacy. Consultations usually take place via common apps like Google Meet, Zoom, or WhatsApp Video, depending on your preference and that of the therapist.

What payment methods are accepted and when do I have to pay?

We mainly accept local bank transfers to our accounts (CIH, Attijariwafa Bank, etc.) as well as transfers via mobile apps. For clients residing abroad, options such as international transfers or money transfer services can be considered. Payment must be made at least 24 hours before the start of the session to confirm your slot. Once payment is received, you will receive a final confirmation with the connection link for your consultation.

Can you prescribe medication for me?

No, psychologists are not medical doctors and are not authorized to prescribe medication. Our work focuses on psychotherapy, listening, and using cognitive and behavioral techniques to help you overcome your difficulties. If your condition requires medication (for example, for severe depression or bipolar disorder), your psychologist will refer you to a competent psychiatrist. It is very common and often beneficial to combine therapy with psychiatric care.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is primarily an initial contact. It is a moment of benevolent exchange where the psychologist will seek to understand your situation, your history, and the reasons bringing you to consultation. You will be able to express your expectations, ask questions about the working method, and see if you feel comfortable with the therapist. At the end of this session, we will define preliminary therapeutic goals together and discuss the frequency of subsequent sessions if you wish to continue.

What happens if I need to cancel or miss a session?

We understand that unforeseen events can happen. However, the time slot is specifically reserved for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to offer this slot to another person waiting. Any session canceled less than 24 hours in advance or any unjustified absence ("No-Show") will be considered due and will not be refunded. We thank you for your understanding and respect for the therapist's time.

I am in crisis or having dark thoughts, can I call you now?

Dima M3ak Psy is not an emergency service and we cannot intervene in cases of immediate suicidal crisis or serious danger. If you feel in danger, have suicidal thoughts, or fear for your safety or that of others, it is imperative to act immediately. Please contact local emergency services (Police: 19, Firefighters: 15, Gendarmerie: 177 in Morocco) or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Online therapy is a long-term follow-up and does not replace emergency intervention.

How long does a session last and how often should I consult?

A standard individual session lasts about 50 minutes. This is the optimal time to perform effective therapeutic work without emotional exhaustion. Regarding frequency, there is no single rule: it depends on your needs, the severity of your symptoms, and your goals. At the beginning of therapy, one session per week is often recommended to create a dynamic of change. Subsequently, sessions can be spaced out (every 15 days or once a month) as you progress and gain autonomy.
